Our innovation – a unique preservation system
LABRAINS is niche cosmetics in the premium segment: the best of natural cosmetics combined with innovative solutions to include only gentle, skin-friendly ingredients in the formulations. Traditionally used preservatives in cosmetics serve to delay the growth of microbes in the product, but they can have adverse, irritating effects on the skin. The LABRAINS innovation is a unique preservation system that has completely replaced conventional - skin-irritating - preservatives, thus creating a product that is gentle on the skin’s microbiome, strengthens the skin’s protective barrier, and prevents micro-cracks in the skin.

When starting to use natural cosmetics, it is important to be aware that this is a long-term commitment; it involves creating a gentle facial skincare routine suitable for the skin’s condition and needs. Results will not be visible overnight. It must be understood that natural cosmetics and skincare are a long-term investment in one’s well-being and health.
Natural cosmetics do not contain chemical fragrances, which means they will not smell like tropical fruits or colorful candies. Because the high-quality fatty acids used in LABRAINS products, despite being of natural plant origin, have a somewhat unsuitable scent for cosmetics, LABRAINS products contain specially selected allergen-free fragrances. Many people will find this natural scent even more pleasant, but of course, that is a matter of taste.
If a person is allergic to any of the raw materials in natural cosmetics, they will notice it very soon - within a very short time. This should be seen as a positive aspect because it immediately makes it possible to determine that a particular product has caused an allergic reaction, and it can be excluded from use. The opposite can happen when using conventional cosmetics: initially, it may not show an allergic reaction, but over a longer period, one can develop a reaction that eventually becomes noticeable.
LABRAINS cosmetics are suitable for all skin types and conditions, including people with problematic skin such as couperose, rosacea, acne, and dermatitis.

Lifestyle impact on skin and overall health:
- Regular, appropriate physical activity
- Proper work-rest-sleep hygiene
- A suitable and balanced diet
- Walks in fresh air, according to the weather, protecting facial skin from external irritants (UV radiation, blue screens, wind, cold)
It takes on average at least two years to develop a new cosmetic product - a long and complex process. The LABRAINS team continually works on improving their products, keeping up with the latest achievements in science, medicine, and natural cosmetics manufacturing. The smaller the company, the easier it is to adapt to new scientific developments, research the market, and keep up with innovations. For example, ingredient manufacturers and distributors often cannot reach major producers whose formulations are already established and remain unchanged for many years. LABRAINS is open to innovation and collaborates with scientists from Latvia and Europe.

Plants contain a vast amount of organic compounds. They produce these in two ways: as a result of photosynthesis and through biochemical processes (by absorbing substances from the soil). Plants themselves produce various substances for their protection, for example, defending against microbes, fungi, and viruses. Humans have learned to recognize these properties in plants and use them for their own needs.
When creams are advertised, active ingredients - plant extracts - are highlighted in the product composition, along with their positive properties. However, one must keep in mind that most of the cosmetic product is actually its base. Active substances make up only a tiny percentage of the product. It is very important that the base does not contain irritating, harmful substances for the skin. Otherwise, it is like drinking a very healthy smoothie while standing in a bonfire. The smoothie (like the active plant extracts) has beneficial properties, but everything surrounding it is harmful. LABRAINS’ innovation is the complete exclusion of irritating preservatives and solvents from the product composition.
LABRAINS products contain various plant extracts, and several products are suitable for different skin types. This is because a specific active substance will act on the type of skin for which it’s suitable - its effect may, for example, specifically target the skin’s sebaceous glands. For those who have overactive sebaceous glands, that particular extract’s property will be more effective. Conversely, those who do not have problems with excess oiliness will experience a neutral effect from that active substance. For example, ABC cream with Bakuchiol is ideally suited to oily and combination skin because bakuchiol works on excess sebum, reducing comedones. At the same time, this cream also works wonderfully for dry skin because it contains ceramides that strengthen the skin’s protective barrier. Each active ingredient also has multiple properties. The product formulation is designed to cover various skin needs. Bakuchiol targets receptors that regulate sebum; in dry skin, these receptors are not the main issue, so the activity of ceramides takes precedence.
For emotionally stressed, irritated clients, do not start immediately with the REDress line - it would be too aggressive. For emotionally sensitive clients, begin with the ResistAGE line. Glycerin can be used both as a solvent and as a moisturizer. It can be either natural or synthetic. LABRAINS uses naturally derived glycerin. In order for glycerin to be a good moisturizer, the dose in the product is crucial - it must be used in very small amounts, and it should not be near the top of the ingredient list. Glycerin is a very cheap raw material, much cheaper than a high-quality oil. Chemically, glycerin is a trivalent alcohol with three -OH groups that attract moisture, but the key is using it in small doses; it should not be used as a substitute for high-quality oil. A high-quality oil has much greater added value in terms of composition.
LABRAINS encourages avoiding cosmetics products that contain: microplastics, microbeads, silicone-derived ingredients, synthetic and natural commonly used preservatives (e.g., alcohol, benzyl alcohol, benzoate, phenoxyethanol, PEG, parabens, phthalates, etc.), which can cause skin irritation or negatively impact the endocrine system; synthetic fillers; genetically engineered (GE) ingredients; artificial colorants; fragrance allergens; chemical sunscreen filters; mineral oils; BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole); ethanolamines and ethoxylated ingredients; listed allergens (e.g., limonene, linalool).
